Lots of Lovely Lavender

Scurry on over to Joyce Lavender Ranch and cut some of the sweet-smelling blooms to create your own fragrant bouquet.

Open Field Days were held the weekend of June 7-8, 2008, and will be repeated on Saturday, June 14, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on Sunday, June 15, from 11 a.m to 3 p.m.

Visitors also are invited to relax with a cool glass of lavender lemonade ($2) and enjoy a ranch-style lunch ($6 to $8).

Established in 2003, Joyce Lavender Ranch boasts about 1,500 lavender plants and several rows of rosemary. It is near the Scurry County town of Hermleigh, on County Road 4102 off U.S. 84 and 180.

Its lavender and rosemary products, including oils and sprays, are available at www.joycelavender.com.
